Nyirrpi Project
Although Nyirrpi, an Aboriginal community 160km southwest of Yuendumu, was founded in the late 1970's the community has never had an art centre or consistent art facilitation.
When several longstanding members of Warlukurlangu Artists moved from Yuendumu to Nyirrpi in early 2005 they asked that Warlukurlangu provide them with support there. Since that time, staff from Warlukurlangu have been making regular trips to Nyirrpi to support the artists there. Arriving with a vehicle full of canvas and paint, the trips by Warlukurlangu are always awaited with much anticipation.
